Using Joltuar with Google Meet (Chrome extension)

With the Joltuar Chrome extension installed, the app pairs with it in one click and automatically uses the Meet meeting as the transcription source — no ports, no tokens, no sign-in inside the extension.

Installing the extension: add it from the Chrome Web Store — click Add to Chrome and confirm. It installs and auto-updates from the store. You can also grab the download link straight from Settings → Audio & transcription in the app.

This guide walks through pairing, starting assist for a Meet call, and switching the audio source.

Steps

1. Approve the pairing

The first time the extension reaches the app, a one-click pairing dialog appears. No ports or tokens to copy — click Allow once and you are set.

2. Check the connection in Settings

Settings → Audio & transcription shows the live extension status: paired, and currently in a Meet meeting. The integration is ON by default.

3. Confirm the transcription consent

Starting assist while the extension sits in a Meet call asks for the per-meeting consent — confirm that participants know the call is transcribed.

4. Meet audio drives the assist

The assist window opens with the Meet meeting as its source — the transcript streams straight from the extension, with hints and signals working as usual.

5. Switch the audio source any time

Quick settings show the active audio source. You can switch between "Meet — extension" and "Local audio" mid-call; if the extension is not in a meeting, the app falls back to local audio automatically.
